This great philosophy is proved and practiced by Dr. P K P Mahamood sir, in a comprehensive manner who consoled the pain of society and provided everyone with relief and pleasure. His medical clinic was a life rescue centre and magic powers as the steps up and steps down brought recovery to those who approached him for relief.

He was a voluminous book which illustrates preaching and practice of all the goodness and greatness of the worlds books. The meaningful and moving accounts of this book initiates from the historical region of Malabar, Pappinishery having the heritage of industrial, social and theological revolutions. This locality for once was the source of good shelter and clothes of the entire Kannur district. Our beloved Dr. PKP Mahamood sir was born at this village in a famous reputed family in the year 1945 as the son of Kaithatt Ummer Haji who is a man with infinite, gentleness and generosity. His mother was Fathima who was the embodiment of humanity, good matured and ambitious. It was a fact no one had foreseen that this child would make a foot mark in the field of unequalled social service and attain the summit of right living.

Having given birth a child goodness and greatness this mother performed a sacred duty and answered the call of God. He lost his mother at the age of four who later in this life founded Sal Sabeel Girls’ Orphanage for orphans and destitute. The affectionate and wise father and mother nurtured him with sufficient care and love. It is evident from the history of Pappinisheri that the education system was classified into religious and general education in which the first one was compulsory and the later was almost discouraged.

In the midst of struggle for education C K Attakkoya Thangal up held the lamp of education and provided with two folded education and under the same umbrella namely Ansarul Islam Madrass. This madrassa acted as incubator so as to hatch out flying future of Dr. PKP Mahamood sir. it was a fact everyone was astonished observing the intelligence and smartness performed by Dr. P.K.P Mahamood even at early age, over and above the classes in which he was studying. He was denied of formal education up to fifth standard and his enrollment to sixth standard in Valapattanam elementary school was a significant step made by C K Attakkoya Thangal whose divine vision later transformed in to great blessings to the society. As a part of his succession he joined Azheekode High school with first class who stood first in the school making him eligible for admission for various courses both art and science areas.

In Malabar region the establishment and function of farook college which was a great education centre and source of inspiration during the last century. This institution contributed a lot towards the growth and development of Dr PKP Mahamood in the field of social , scientific, theological doctrine. The entry through the solemn and sacred gate way of farook college is a stepping stone to the grand success of his life. The entry to prematric course in UC college Alwaye is footmark in the line of his Medical science. He passed premedical course with outstanding performance. He was famous in the college is an intelligent student and at the same time he wass curious and conscious, about the social efforts. He was well known as in the college as “AKASHAVANI” and best friend of Mathrubhoomi and Malayala Manorama news papers.

Having successfully completed Pre medical course he sought admission in Kozhikode Medical college. It was the only great medical centre in Malabar region. The medical education of Dr PKP Mahamood was greatly influenced by the sacred philosophy of medical science. He performed excellently medical education and secured Gold medal and scholarships and he also got encouragement both from family and locality. The medical practitioners have been placed in a reputable position all the time especially during the past. As all the doctors were preferring in the head quarters cities, Dr PKP Mahamood opted to work in the remote eastern region where the thousands of the people were essentially in need of medical service. The major portion of 20th century marked with poverty, calamities and disease and it was horribly dark years of complicated social crisis and issues. As a blessing to the people of region Dr PKP Mahamood steped in to Sreekandapuram to provide relief and pleasure for the people in need.

The specialization of Dr PKP Mahamood is goodness and sacrifice. He was a doctor of common people with simplicity and sincerely. The consultation was not under control of the clock and token system instead under the need of patients indeed. The doors of his clinic and home was open to the public round the clock and he provided with relief for everyone and Dr PKP Mahamood sacrificed his step and rest for the public. He was not interested in position for money but both were always behind him: “Build bridges than walls”- this is the great thought practiced in his life which is evident from the fact that the premises of his home is without wall and gate so as to facilitate the entry of public at anytime.

He was during the medical practice for a period of fifty years with un natural power and divine blessings which was effective error free and blameless. His intellectual diagnosis with inward eyes are more scientific than the modern multi medical technology. He was a family doctor of all the families who answered the call of all who are relief. He was the chief guest in all the pleasant occasions and source of comfort on all the discomfort confidently. The people of the locality they are ill as they have Dr PKP Mahamood to provide relief but when he was ill they were extremely anxious and prayed to God for his immediate recovery. The type of sincere and joined prayer helped him overcome personal health crisis in many occasions. He was serving in the medical field upholding the vision of WHO which states that health is physical mental and social stability of man and so he was a doctor with active involvement the social efforts.

He sought pleasure form the education field and contributed a lot towards general education. He was really an educationalist and educational reformer. He taught his daughter in the general schools of locality instead of sending them in the distant city English medium schools which is entirely different from attitude from other professionals also contributed a lot toward the establishment of higher education centre such as SES college of the locality.

As there was a wide spread affinity towards the English medium education, Dr PKP Mahamood sir who made English medicine universal in the locality developed and operated salsabeel public school for the common people as the people of the locality are confident of the goodness and sincerity of Dr PKP Mahamood they extended all hearted support to all the social welfare activities offered by him though there was evil attack to the human activities of doctor with severe harassment and hindrance he could overcome all the difficulties successfully with his power of wisdom and character. Another historical movement made him was the opening of girls orphanage. It was first in the kannur district for the girls who are specially in need of affection and care. The unequalled power of the doctors originated from the sound and strong belief in God which has been reflected in the establishment of Sal Sabeel masjid.

Children of Sal Sabeel girls’ Orphanage never thought they are orphans as they are living in a pleasant atmosphere under the affection and care of Dr. PKP Mahamood sir who provided all the facilities to make sure the safety and welfare of the children. The students of Sal Sabeel are blessed and fortunate at the presence of Dr. PKP Mahamood in almost all the occasions who was a teacher , Doctor, scientist and social reformer for them all in one. The awareness class on service and social efforts made by Dr. PKP Mahamood was comprehensive and interesting for the children. It is an amazing fact that he was not a film star nor sports star but he is a role model for the children while the younger generation is in search of universally respectable personalities. We are fortunate to have a sterling model and students of Sal Sabeel earnestly expressed their intense longing to become Dr. PKP Mahamood in future which is a great honour to our beloved doctor. He brought up and taught his own daughters along with common children of the society and they were pride and privilege of general schools of the locality.

According to Khaleel Gebran “Your children are not yours, though they come through you but not from you may give them your love not your thought; you may strive to be like them but seeks not to make them like you”. This great ideology is successfully applied by doctor through his own children. If he had not been a doctor he would have been a teacher. This great desire and ambition have been achieved by him who contributed his beloved daughter as science teacher of Sal Sabeel.

Though he was having chain of illness for nearly thirty years he never surrendered his illness and age that was active and dutiful until the last breath. He was providing relief for others with medicine advice and guidance, while he was treating himself with social service from which he got inspiration and satisfaction. It is a miracle even during the last moments of his life, He was engaged in medical checkup of students, treatment of patients and relief work for the poor though he was encircled with horrible diseases he was bold and brave to face all the difficulties ahead as he was having profound belief in God. He was determined to finish his task of sacrifice prior to death and to attain heavenly blessings in the other world.

He was a man of goodness, alertness, impartially, belief, brotherhood, affection, simplicity and wisdom. The demonstration of sacrifice and his experiment with truth is clearly reflected in his sacred service in various areas. He practiced his preaching which was enjoyed by the public and so there is no need of memorials for him. His life itself a message and monuments which are everlasting. The posthumous honour that can be offered to him is to move along salsabeel paved by him and protect and develop his sacred institutions.
